Matching The Dress To The Venue

What comes first the gown or the venue? And does it even matter? YES. Most brides don’t realize that a dress needs to match the venue and vice versa. The location sets the tone for your wedding and how you will want to look on your special day. I know what you’re thinking; that this seems crazy and is possibly the most ridiculous rule you have ever heard of but matching the dress to the venue is what blends all the ideas and the theme together.  Here are a few tips to help you find the perfect dress to fit your perfect location:
Backyard Bliss
For outdoor weddings the bride to be should be looking more towards a “no fuss” type of dress with various types laces or flowing chiffon.  A simplistic design with lightweight fabric allows freedom of movement for the bride and the dress.
Glitz & Glamour
For the upscale wedding the bride should be looking more towards the ball gowns, classic A line, or a fit and flare dress with lace and beading embellishments.
Traditional & Classic
This is where the old-school classic style comes in. This traditional bride should be searching for an A-line fitted dress or ball gown with the possibility of having the shoulders covered. This bride will definitely be channeling her inner Kate Middleton.
Beachside
For the bride in looking to spend her special day on the beach of her dreams we recommend a sheath style dress to compliment the dazzling ocean view. Also for you destination brides remember that you will have to tote it through all the airports and attempt to fit it in an overhead bin on the plane.
There are many venues that could go either way depending on how you choose to decorate for the special day. Just keep in mind your dream dress and theme when you’re looking for your perfect venue. This will ensure the big day turns out to be the vision of perfection you always imaged it would be.
